The Impact of AI and Digitalization on Our Workforce Composition and How We Prep to Shift
This session explores how AI and digitalisation are reshaping the nature of work. AI helps make certain types of tasks more efficient, particularly those that are repetitive, rules-based and process-heavy. At the same time, this enables colleagues to focus more on work that requires judgement, expertise and interaction with clients. It highlights how organisations should anticipate these changes proactively, rather than reactively, to remain competitive and resilient. A key focus is on understanding how work is evolving, how roles and skills are changing, and where new roles and skills are emerging. The “Prep to Shift” approach centres on equipping the workforce with the skills, mindset and mobility needed to navigate this transformation, combining reskilling, upskilling and internal talent redeployment, with a clear focus on supporting colleagues through this transition. It also emphasises the importance of data-driven workforce planning and strong collaboration between HR, business leaders and employees. Importantly, the session addresses the human side of transformation, ensuring engagement, clarity and inclusion throughout the journey. Ultimately, AI is not just a technology shift, but an enabler of how we work, learn and continue to deliver value.
